How To Kill Flying Squirrels?

How To Kill Flying Squirrels?

Flying squirrels are different and unique from regular squirrels and mostly found in North America. Why someone wants to kill flying squirrel? Because they can be found in attics or houses in search of food and people want to get rid of them. They are not dangerous to humans directly but the mess they create with their nest building and their droppings can be unsafe for health. They can also damage floors and walls of the house.

Killing by trapping

Homemade traps or traps bought from the store, both can be used to kill flying squirrels. Make sure your trap works good with lighter weight species as flying squirrels weigh lighter than regular squirrels. Sunflower seeds and peanut butter can be used in the traps as flying squirrels love these tastes. Use of the lethal snap trap is the best and easiest way to kill this unique specie of North America.

Killing by poison

Any poisonous spray that can kill rats, mice, hamsters and porcupines can be used to kill flying squirrels. These sprays are not successful every time as flying squirrel tries to escape from the poisonous smell of the spray. Small crevice or hole in your wall can turn out to be the best place for flying squirrels to hide in. They can also die there because of the smell of poisonous spray but it can create mess and can be pesky for you. Use of poisonous spray is not a good way or maybe the worst way to kill flying squirrels.

Killing by shooting

This way of killing flying squirrel is very rare as it can only be applied in rural areas where neighbors will not get disturb and use of a gun is legal or allowed. A precise and accurate gunshot can kill flying squirrels and that can only be done by an expert marksman. This is a difficult way to kill them but can be successful if you are good at shooting. Every country has its own rules and regulations and killing of flying squirrel is illegal in most of the countries.
